Survey on Neighbourhood Planning

We have had a request from a research student at the University of Manchester for help with his dissertation on Neighbourhood Planning:

Over the last few years communities have been encouraged to take a more active part in the planning process for their areas through Neighbourhood Planning. My research aims to review the level of continuing participation in the planning process in areas with ‘made’ plans. As a community that was involved in this initiative, I am keen to hear your views.

The Survey
The brief survey will take less than 10 minutes of your time to complete and your opinions will help to help me evaluate the long term impact neighbourhood planning has had and will allow me to ensure that my study is as thorough as possible. You can access the survey through the following link:

The research will take place over a four week period (ending 06/08/20). All information provided in the survey is recorded anonymously and the results will only be used for the purpose of writing my dissertation.

Neighbourhood Plan Refresh and CIL Survey

If you were unable to attend the Open Consultation Events, you can complete the online survey:

For anyone unable to complete it online, paper copies can be obtained from the Melton Parish Council office.

We are seeking residents’ views on the refresh and also how the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) income should be spent. We have a number of large projects in mind and we need to ensure they meet local needs and aspirations.

Further information about the Neighbourhood Plan refresh is on the website

Neighbourhood Plan and CIL Project Consultation Events

We are holding two Open Consultation Events at our office for Melton residents to give their views on updates to our Neighbourhood Plan (NP), which is now 2 years old.  There will be more information on the NP website  but please do come along to give your feedback.  We will also be giving further opportunities for residents to give their views online and at future open events.

These sessions will also be seeking residents’ views on how we intend to spend our Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) income.  We have a number of large projects in mind and we need to ensure they meet local needs and aspirations.  Many of these emerged from the NP.

Friday 7th February – 6-9pm

Saturday 8th February – 9am-noon
