If a car parks in the disabled parking space, the pedestrian access to the Recreation Ground is blocked. In the past the gate has been kept open and a bollard was installed. The bollard no longer works and keeping the gate open has resulted in cars driving onto the Recreation Ground. Remedial works are being undertaken on the car park as part of the Pavilion project and so as part of this the white lining is going to be amended so the disabled space is further over and there will be cross hatching in front of the gate and pedestrian entrance to prevent vehicles from blocking these access points. Cost is £412.00.
An additional drainage gully was required at the Pavilion due to the collection of rainwater by the gabions. The quote from Mixbrow was considered too high and so a quote was sought from a contractor recommended by the architect, which came in at £1k. FERM deferred the work until 2023 and delegated the decision to the office. The maintenance officer offered to undertake the work for £500 (covering labour and materials) and the work was carried out in early February by him. The architect has carried out an inspection and is very satisfied with the work undertaken. |
