In 2018 Melton Parish Council established a Neighbourhood Plan. Over the last 6 years this Plan has helped us to protect our village from unwanted growth and improve our public spaces and has enabled Melton to access over £500k of Community Infrastructure Levy. Our Plan now needs to be refreshed and a project was established in 2024 to make this happen.
The project is being guided by a Steering Group, made up of Parish Councillors, village residents and representatives of groups such as Melton Primary School. The group is tasked with working alongside Louise Cornell, and her team, who will be providing support and guidance. In recent years Louise has built up significant expertise in supporting communities to develop Neighbourhood Plans, advising on all aspects of policy development. You can find out more about Louise by checking out her website at Collective Community Planning.
