On 3 April 2020, EDF wrote to Parish Councils confirming its decision to defer, by a few weeks, the submission of its application for a Development Consent Order (DCO) to build Sizewell C. EDF says that this will allow everyone more time to read the documents through the summer months and then register their interest and submit their views for the public examination phase of the DCO process. EDF is liaising with the Planning Inspectorate to discuss how normal arrangements can be flexed so that communities are not disadvantaged by the current difficult circumstances.
