Refuse collections to resume on Monday 15th February

Following this week’s severe weather, which led to the cancellation of all refuse collections in the district, East Suffolk Norse will resume collections on Monday 15th February.

‘Catch up’ collections will be taking place and during these, bagged side waste will be accepted.

Collection days will remain the same, however the particular bin being emptied may be different for the next two weeks to ensure all outstanding collections are completed. There will be double collections on some days.

All residents are usually divided in to one of two collection calendars – details for YOUR revised collections are below.

You can also see what days your bins are usually collected by using our ‘Bin Collection Day Finder’.

CALENDAR ONE

(your black/grey bin collection was missed this week commencing 8th February)

Week commencing 15th February – on your normal collection day:

Black/grey bin collection only (side waste accepted) CATCH-UP SERVICE

Week commencing 22nd February – on your normal collection day:

Black/grey bin collection (no side waste) NORMAL SERVICE

Blue bin collection (side waste accepted) CATCH-UP SERVICE

CALENDAR TWO

(your blue bin collection was missed this week commencing 8th February)

Week commencing 15th February – on your normal collection day:

Black/grey bin collection (no side waste) NORMAL SERVICE

Blue bin collection (side waste accepted) CATCH UP SERVICE

Week commencing 22nd February – on your normal collection day:

Blue bin collection only (no side waste) NORMAL SERVICE

These collections are subject to the weather conditions. All collections will return to the normal schedule from 1 March.

To enable crews to focus solely on the general household waste and recycling collections, garden waste collections will be suspended for two weeks and will resume on Monday 1 March.

This means that some households will unfortunately miss two scheduled garden waste collections, whilst some will miss one collection. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes however the clearing of normal waste and recycling during this difficult period is our priority.

Green Bin Collections Suspended

As of 27 March 2020, East Suffolk Council has temporarily suspended the collection of green bins, until further notice.  This is in response to the COVID-19 emergency and aims to protect crew safety and prioritise household waste and recycling collections.  The advice from East Suffolk Council is:

All current green bin subscriptions will be extended, once the service resumes, to reflect the period of time that collections were missed within your subscription period.

There is also concern about the risk of increased fly-tipping. If you see any, please report it: https://www.eastsuffolk.gov.uk/waste/fly-tipping/how-to-report-fly-tipping/
