Temporary Closure of Bredfield Road as Full Fibre Rollout Works Near Completion
CityFibre is delivering a government contract to provide a full fibre broadband network to mainly rural areas across Suffolk. This four-year Project Gigabit programme will see over 140,000 premises across the county connected to CityFibre’s gigabit-capable, fibre-to-the-premises network.
The Suffolk rollout has started primarily in the Woodbridge, Melton, Martlesham and Felixstowe areas and have involved a lot of activities in Woodbridge in particular over recent months. Thousands of homes in the town and surrounding parishes can now connect to CityFibre’s gigabit-capable full fibre network and hundreds of premises have already been installed.
The infrastructure works in Woodbridge and Melton are nearing completion and we wanted to make you aware of a permit approved by Suffolk County Council for a temporary closure of Bredfield Road between February 21st and March 9th, impacting a bus route.
As is usual with such permits, Suffolk County Council’s highways team will be informing the bus company and the bus company will inform its customers of its arrangements during the road closure. CityFibre’s contractor OCU will be displaying advance warnings signs ahead of the closure and a diversionary route will be communicated.
