Woodbridge Library – Events in March 2025

The Friends of Woodbridge Library (FOWL) If you’re enthusiastic about libraries, would enjoy helping to organise library events and are willing to help with our fundraising activities, please ask a member of staff for more details. Currently, FOWL are looking for someone to handle publicity. Duties would include a monthly newsletter, submitting events to the local free press and updating social media. Please let a member of staff know if you are interested.

Suffolk Libraries (don’t forget we are a charity!) – Items for Sale Available for sale are Suffolk Libraries “Love Your Library” jute bags for £5, torches and pens are also available for £3 each.

Open Space – Every Wednesday 1:30pm – 3:30pm An informal drop-in for anybody interested in their mental health and wellbeing, as well as families and carers. It is run in partnership with Suffolk Mind. Discussions and activities are built from suggestions from the group. ArtLib 

During the month of March, Woodbridge Art Group (photographers) will be exhibiting their work. There will be an opportunity to purchase their work, thereby supporting our local artists.

Knitting Group – Every Friday 2pm – 4pm For all types of knitters from expert to beginners, sewing to crochet, come and share your knowledge or pick up some tips.

Lego Club for Children – Saturday 1st March 10am-2pm Running on the first Saturday of every month, do come along to this free club and have a go at creating your own Lego masterpiece! Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Wellbeing Friends – Wednesday 5th March 12pm-1pm 

Working in collaboration Wellbeing Suffolk, Suffolk Libraries are running a special Face 2 Face Friends session at Woodbridge  Library. You will become a Wellbeing Friend and learn all about the support on offer at Suffolk Libraries for your Health and Wellbeing.

Woodbridge Writers Group – Wednesday 5th and Wednesday 19th March  (normally 1st and 3rd Wed of the month) 10am-12pm   Join our friendly group for reciprocal feedback, encouragement, and support regarding anything you’re writing or have written. Write Now Writing Group – Tuesday 11th March 2pm – 4pm Are you interested in writing short stories and poetry? Looking to share your work with others and get peer support, exchange ideas and more? We would be delighted for you to join us for our friendly and informal monthly writing group!  Everyone can write – all abilities are welcome. Books, Banter and Biscuits Book Group – Thursday 13th March 2pm – 4pm A book group that’s open to everyone, meeting on the second Thursday of every month. They will be discussing  Marple: 12 New Stories by Naomi Alderman and Agatha Christie

You will also have the opportunity to win some fabulous raffle prizes.

Postnatal yoga for mums and their babies – Tuesdays 10:15am – 11:15am (term time)  at Woodbridge Library Meeting Room. This is a small nurturing group class for maximum 8 mums and their babies. Classes are inclusive, welcoming and suitable for all abilities. Postnatal yoga classes are designed to help you relax, release tension, reconnect to your body and support your overall wellbeing. Free Music at Lunchtime – Tuesday 18th March – 12.45pm-1.30pm Tim Sadler, saxophonist, will be playing his usual easy listening style at our free lunchtime event. Tim has been playing in bands, groups and solo for over 50 years and we are delighted to welcome him back to the library. Entry is free but donations to the work of  The Friends of Woodbridge Library  (FOWL) are most welcome.

Top Time Play Reading – Thursday 20th March 2pm – 4pm A play reading group that reads all varieties and genres of plays in a shared format, taking place on the third Thursday of every month.

Suffolk Libraries Day – Saturday 22nd March

Did you know that Suffolk Libraries is a charity? We will be holding a fundraising day at the library, where activities will include Lego building, children’s crafts and refreshments. All monies raised will go to Suffolk Libraries.

Top Time Games Club- Thursday 27th March- 2pm-4pm Improve your vocabulary and exercise your mind muscles with Scrabble or practice strategy and balance with Dominoes.

Wordplay

Every Wednesday 10.30-10.50am, Baby Bounce: Soothing songs and gentle nursery rhymes for babies and their grown-ups

Every Wednesday 11.15-11.45am, Tot Rock Rhyme and rhythm: music, songs and action rhymes for toddlers with their parents and carers.

Every Friday 10.30-11.00am, Story Time: Stories and more for young children accompanied by an adult.

Stay & Play- Friday 9:30am – 10:15am A chance for new parents to meet and share experiences in a relaxed environment,  gaining peer support.

Book Sale Have a browse of the ex-stock books for sale. All proceeds go to Suffolk Libraries.
