OPTIONS CONSIDERED

 

 

 

 

1.     Pygmyweed Suppression

Engagement of Native Landscapes to purchase and install weed suppression matting at the pond in Burkes Wood to help manage the spread of the invasive non-native NZ pygmyweed. Cost of £380 which will be paid out of CIL.

 

2.     Metal shed

A metal shed was purchased to provide storage whilst the Pavilion is demolished and rebuilt. Cost of £649.99 (inc VAT). Payment was greater than the agreed level of £500 per debit card transaction but this was the only means of purchasing the shed. The shed needed to be purchased relatively urgently due to the imminent demolition and limited shed availability due to Brexit and haulage issues. Approval was sought from Chairs/Vice Chairs under the delegated approval mechanism agreed by Full Council on the 5th May 2021.

 

3.     Tree Safety Works

Emergency tree works had to be carried out on the 30th September and 5th October after strong winds caused a very large limb to drop from a horse chestnut tree in the recently divested Leeks Hill Woods. Emergency works authorised by the Clerk under Fin. Reg. 4.5.  Cost was £880.00 to be paid out of the Divested Land Sinking Fund EMR.

 

4.     Fence panels

Some of the fencing at Hall Farm Road Sports Ground has rotted and fallen. Initially quotes were to be sought from contractors as the Maintenance Officer felt the work was too big a job for him to manage. However on reflection he feels he can carry out the repairs and has sought pricing for the materials which cost £311.70. This can be paid out of the Divested Land Sinking Fund EMR

 

5.     Fan in office wc/shower room

Replacement of fan in office wc/shower room. This has failed and is out of guarantee. 3 quotes have been sought:

A £400.00 + VAT

B £455.00 + VAT

C quote awaited.

FERM Committee is requested to delegate to the Clerk / Asst. Clerk to accept the lowest of the quotes received.
