English Heritage – Visitor Volunteers

English Heritage are looking to expand the team of volunteers at both Orford and Framlingham and are looking for enthusiastic people to welcome visitors and enhance their visit.

At Orford & Framlingham Castle, English Heritage welcome visitors and share stories of their history.  Orford, with its unique polygonal tower, stands beside the pretty town and former port, which Henry II also developed. It is remarkably intact allowing visitors to explore from the basement, through to the lower and upper halls.  Around the rooms is a maze of passages leading to the chapel, kitchen and other chambers in the turrets.  Framlingham Castle was once the centre of a vast network of power and influence, and spectacular views that would have also been experienced by Mary Tudor while she was proclaimed Queen of England behind its wall.

English Heritage are currently recruiting for Visitor Volunteers, with sessions being available every day, from April to October.  Details of the role can be found here: Orford Castle Visitor Volunteer | English Heritage (english-heritage.org.uk)
