Suffolk Libraries and Friends Charity Goodies

Available is a Suffolk Libraries “I’m a Borrower” tote bags for £3.50, or for £5 you can receive both the tote bag and as much fiction as you can fit inside!

ArtLib – Meadows and Verges

During the month of September, Dick Dolan will be exhibiting his pastel paintings of Suffolk nature in the library. The countryside is changing as agriculture adapts to new government incentives to make farming more nature friendly in response to the dual threats of Climate Change and Biodiversity Loss. Dick Dolan has been painting his impressions of the new vibrancy this is producing.

Summer Reading Challenge Ready, Set, Read! starts July 15th – Sunday 3rd September

The challenge for children to read 6 books during the summer holiday continues throughout August and will finish on Sunday 3rd September.

Citizens Advice – Every Monday 10am – 12pm at the library

Free, confidential, and impartial advice to everybody regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or disability. No booking necessary.

Open Space – Every Wednesday 1:30pm – 3:30pm

An informal drop-in for anybody interested in their mental health and wellbeing, as well as families and carers. It is run in partnership with Suffolk Mind. Discussions and activities are built from suggestions from the group. Knitting Group – Every Friday 2pm – 4pm

For all types of knitters from expert to beginners, sewing to crochet, come and share your knowledge or pick up some tips.

Write Now Writing Group – Tuesday 12th September 2pm – 4pm

Are you interested in writing short stories and poetry? Looking to share your work with others and get peer support, exchange ideas and more? We would be delighted for you to join us for our friendly and informal monthly writing group!

Everyone can write – all abilities are welcome. Bring your work or come along and listen to others share their words.

Woodbridge Writers’ Workshop – Tuesday 12th September 5:15pm – 7:15pm

Creative poets and budding authors alike can meet up to share their ideas and gain support from fellow writers at this informal Writers’ Workshop.

Books, Banter and Biscuits’ Book Group – Thursday 14th September 2pm – 4pm

A book group that’s open to everyone, meeting on the second Thursday of every month. They will be discussing Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan

Woodbridge Writers Group – Wednesday 20th September only (usually 1st and 3rd Wed of the month) 10am -12pm

Join our friendly group for reciprocal feedback, encouragement, and support regarding anything you’re writing or have written. A group of like-minded writers will be meeting in the Meeting Room.

Friends of Woodbridge Library present An Evening with The Cabin Band -Thursday 21st September 7.30pm

Based around Saxmundham, The Cabin Band are making their first visit to Woodbridge Library. Vocalist and guitarist Inga McNamara and guitarist Phil Reed will perform their entrancing style of Americana and folk – all of which are their own compositions. The band came together a couple of years ago, have recently released a debut EP of their own songs, have broadcast on BBC Suffolk and Norfolk and played at local festivals. ​​Top Time Play Reading – Thursday 21st September 2pm – 4:30pm

A play reading group that reads all varieties and genres of plays in a shared format, taking place on the third Thursday of every month.

Music at Lunchtime – TrickerLilley –  Tuesday 26th September 12:45pm-1:30pm

Join us for a free lunchtime recital with TrickerLilley treating us to a performance of Folk and Americana music. Dave Tricker plays guitar and mandolin along with Steve Lilley who plays ukulele and bouzouki, with both providing vocals.

This is a free event, although donations to The Friends of Woodbridge Library (FOWL) would be much appreciated.

Top Time Games Club – Thursday 28th September 2:00pm – 4:00pm

Improve your vocabulary and exercise your mind muscles with Scrabble or practice strategy and balance with Dominoes.

Every Friday 10.30-11.00am, Story Time: Stories and more for young children accompanied by an adult.

Me, Myself and Baby (Stay & Play) – Friday 9:30am – 10:15am

A chance for new parents to meet and share experiences in a relaxed environment, gaining peer support.

Community / charity / private groups – £12 per hour (minimum booking of two hours)

Staffed table display in the main library – £10 per half day
